I’ve been meaning to talk about eating less meat for a while, but I never knew how to address it. Eating less meat is political, and while I don’t typically shy away from political conversations, eating a more plant-based diet* does come with some privileges. I never want to make anyone feel bad for eating meat because that’s the only option they have. And really, I don’t want anyone to feel bad for eating meat. I still do sometimes! The goal here is to talk about how you can eat less meat - if that’s something you want to do - without dieting.
Let’s start by talking about why someone would want to eat fewer animal products, and then how to do so without falling into the diet trap.
